About
Welcome to Potter's Craft Cider, an enchanting oasis nestled in the heart of Charlottesville, Virginia. Located at 1350 Arrowhead Valley Rd, this hidden gem offers a delightful escape for cider enthusiasts and casual tasters alike. With a thriving selection of artisanal ciders, it’s the perfect destination for all who appreciate quality beverages in a charming environment.
At Potter's Craft Cider, the focus is on crafting exceptional ciders that cater to all palates. Many visitors rave about the diverse selection, with favorites like the Farmhouse Dry and the unique Deep See drawing particular praise. Whether you're typically fond of sweeter drinks or have a penchant for the drier varieties, there is something here for everyone. Don't just take it from me; customer experiences, like those of Alex Mason and Lisa Hare, spotlight the joy found in every sip. Alex, previously hesitant about ciders, discovered a newfound love through the taste of their offerings, particularly enjoying the well-curated flights that allow one to sample multiple flavors.
The ambiance at Potter’s is equally inviting. Housed in a historic stone building—with over a century of character—guests can unwind in cozy indoor spaces adorned with warmth, or enjoy the delightful outdoor seating illuminated by bistro lights. Randy Troyer describes the vibe as historic and welcoming, making it an ideal backdrop for tasting cider. You can even catch live music on certain nights, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to your visit.
But it’s not just the cider that has guests coming back; the culinary offerings elevate the experience even further. The sandwiches and charcuterie boards receive high marks for their deliciousness, making them perfect companions to any flight of cider. As Caylea points out, the intimate and cozy tasting room paired with outdoor charm is simply delightful.
With various events sprinkled throughout the year, Potter's Craft Cider not only serves excellent drinks but also fosters a vibrant community spirit. Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend making a stop to savor the flavors and atmosphere that truly embody the essence of this great cider house.
In conclusion, Potter's Craft Cider is more than just a cider house; it’s an experience infused with flavor, history, and community spirit. I can’t wait to return to this delightful spot and discover more of their amazing ciders!
“ We were in town for the weekend and someone recommended we give Potters a try and Im so glad they did! Im not usually a fan of cider because I find it really sweet but we ordered 2 flights while we were here and I really enjoyed each one! We bought a bottle to bring home. Not only was the cider great and the atmosphere awesome but the sandwiches and charcuterie board we ordered hit the spot...Im honestly still thinking about them! ”
“ I dont drink much cider to be honest but this place is definitely worth a visit. The building is historic and I love the vibe and the outdoor seating area is great. They sometimes have live music and the cider selection is good, I recommend getting a flight because I dont know what kinds of cider I prefer or not. ”
“ Love this place, especially decorated for Christmas. Stopped in for the Farmhouse Dry, which is delicious, it is dry but has some sweetness. Next time Im definitely getting the Deep See though, I told the tender wish Id gotten her name she was chill helpful I loved super dry she pinned exactly what I like in the Deep See. ”
“ Loved it. Great atmosphere and many seating options inside and outside available. Strawberry ginger, and vanilla cherry were two of my favorites, but loved several other ciders as well. My first visit, I would highly recommend!! Stopped after seeing a sign on the road, looks like they have great events throughout the year. ”
“ We love Potters! They have an incredibly cozy and welcoming tasting room space and also a wonderful outdoor area with bistro string lights. The charm and character of the 100 year old stone house is fun to just admire on its own, but the cider is great too and dry! ”
“ We love Potters! Great ciders and selection of bottles and cans, and love the option for growlers. The building and outdoor area are lovely, and we enjoyed hearing live music from WTJU. Glad that they have a physical space for people to enjoy good drinks and community. ”
“ We stopped here on a Saturday evening in early March while traveling. We shared a flight but did not have any food. Parking was crowded and you have to walk up a trail to get to the building. Theres a drive way you can drive up to drop people off though. The line to order was long but moved at a reasonable pace. The staff were friendly. There was live music performing in the main level. We sat upstairs at a table so it was a little quieter up there but they were pretty full. The cider was good. I liked the strawberry ginger the most of the 4 we had. There were a few kids running around. I find this to be a bit inconsiderate of parents when the place is jam packed and the kids are on the loose. Im not saying dont bring your kids, but have some situational awareness. It looks like they have some outdoor space. It was too cold and windy to be outside on the night we were there. Overall this was a good experience. ”
“ Potters is absolute perfection every. single. time. Been going there since the grand opening magical evening and each time its a delight. The customer service is always fantastic everyone Ive interacted with has always been friendly and helpful. On they weekends they typically have food trucks and live music which only enhances the entire experience. Not to mention the grounds and beautifully restored stone church are the perfect setting to enjoy some of their wonderfully dry ciders. Check this place out...you wont regret it. ”
